Hamsa Jewish Art by Albert Levi – Hand-Painted Judaica for Protection

Some symbols protect. Some inspire. Some do both.

For generations, the Hamsa has been one of the most powerful and beloved symbols in Jewish tradition. And for me — as an artist and as a Jew — it’s one of the most meaningful to paint.

My name is Albert Levi. I’m an Israeli artist and a reservist in the IDF. I create hand-painted Judaica rooted in faith, color, and identity. And when I paint a Hamsa, it’s not just for beauty — it’s for blessing.

What Is the Hamsa?

The Hamsa, also known as the Hand of Miriam, is a palm-shaped symbol traditionally believed to offer protection from the evil eye and attract divine blessing, joy, and health.

In Jewish homes, it’s often placed near the entrance or in central rooms — not just as decoration, but as a spiritual anchor.

That’s why people search for:

  • Jewish Hamsa art

  • Hand-painted Hamsa wall decor

  • Albert Levi Hamsa paintings

  • Colorful Judaica for protection and blessing

How I Paint the Hamsa

I start with energy.

Using vibrant blues, whites, and bold accents, I paint each Hamsa with dynamic movement and texture. I often include Hebrew words such as:

  • חיים (life)

  • ברכה (blessing)

  • שלום (peace)

I also use splash-paint techniques and deep brushwork to give each piece a sense of motion — like the protection is alive.

Each Hamsa is hand-painted in my studio in Herzliya, Israel. Originals and limited editions are available — all touched by hand, all made with intention.

Where My Hamsa Art Lives

Collectors have placed my Hamsa paintings:

  • At the entrance of their home

  • Above baby cribs for spiritual protection

  • In kitchens and family spaces to bring warmth and peace

Whether as a gift or a personal talisman, it becomes more than a piece of art. It becomes a presence.

Why It’s More Than Just a Hand

This symbol is ancient — but the way we express it today must feel alive.

That’s why my Hamsa art isn’t flat or passive. It’s expressive, joyful, bold. It reflects who we are — a people of resilience, light, and deep connection.

Questions People Ask Me:

Is each Hamsa really hand-painted?
Yes — every original is made by hand. Limited editions are printed on museum-grade canvas and then hand-embellished by me.

Do you add Hebrew text by request?
Absolutely. Many people ask for names, blessings, or custom messages.

Where is the best place to hang it?
Popular spots include entryways, living rooms, or over a child’s bed.

Is this also a good gift?
Yes — it’s one of my most requested gifts for weddings, housewarmings, and new babies.
