If there’s one symbol that keeps showing up in my work — it’s the Lion of Judah.
Not just because it’s powerful. Not just because it looks epic on a canvas. But because it holds something deeper. Something ancient. Something raw and eternal.
My name is Albert Levi. I’m an Israeli artist, a reservist in the IDF, and I paint from a place that blends memory, identity, and spiritual fire. And for me — painting the Lion of Judah is more than an artistic choice. It’s a calling.

Why the Lion of Judah?
If you're already feeling connected to this symbol, you can browse the Lion of Judah collection here and see the full range of pieces I've created over the years.
The lion has always been a symbol of Jewish royalty. It represents the tribe of Judah — the source of King David, of strength, of kingship, of Mashiach.
But when I paint it, it’s not only about history. It’s about today.
The Lion of Judah is the Jewish soul in 2024 — fierce, alive, brave, and still standing.
It’s every Jew who refuses to be silenced. It’s every family that chooses to hang pride on their walls. It’s every person who looks at their identity and says: I’m not hiding this. I’m roaring it.
How I Paint My Lions
I don’t sketch tame lions. I paint roaring ones. Bursting with energy. Eyes that lock onto yours. Paint that feels like it’s moving.
Using layers of acrylic on cotton canvas, I build each lion with splash-paint techniques, brush textures, and bold Israeli colors — especially blues and whites.
I often include Hebrew elements like:
-
"עם ישראל חי"
-
"גאווה"
-
Stars of David
-
Subtle outlines of the Israeli flag
Each lion is hand-painted in my studio in Herzliya, Israel. Some are originals. Some are limited edition prints, hand-embellished by me with real texture.
And each one carries presence. You can feel it in the room.
A Moment I’ll Never Forget
In early 2024, one of my Lion of Judah paintings was featured in a charity auction for Israel.
It sold for $30,000.
That moment wasn’t just about money. It was about meaning. People saw the painting and felt something. It gave them chills. It gave them hope. It gave them pride.
And that’s when I realized — this lion wasn’t mine anymore. It belonged to all of us.

What It Means to Have a Lion in Your Home
You don’t have to wait until the end of this article. If something in this speaks to you, take a look now: Explore the collection and see which piece calls your name.
Jewish families across the U.S. tell me the same thing:
"Every time I walk past it, I feel stronger." "My kids ask me what it means — and I get to tell them the story of who we are."
That’s why this isn’t just Judaica. It’s not just wall art.
It’s a statement.
Of Jewish strength. Of Israeli pride. Of spiritual fire that refuses to go out.
Where It Belongs
A Lion of Judah painting isn’t for a quiet corner. It’s for a space that deserves to roar:
-
Above a mantel
-
In an entryway
-
In a synagogue or Jewish school
-
In your living room, where guests walk in and say: “Wow.”
Many of my collectors place them next to their Israeli flag, Torah books, or family portraits. Because it represents everything they believe in.

Each one is created with intention, story, and soul. Whether you choose an original or a limited edition hand-embellished piece — you’ll feel the roar.
Questions I’m Often Asked:
“Is the $30K lion still available?”
No. That piece was a one-of-a-kind original that now lives in a private home in the U.S. But I’ve created new lions since — each one with its own voice.
“Can I order a custom lion with Hebrew words or colors?”
Yes. Many collectors request custom phrases, dates, or background tones. Just message me.
“Do you ship within the U.S.?”
Yes. Most of my collectors are based in America, and shipping is handled smoothly from within the States.
“What sizes are available?”
Originals and prints come in several sizes. If you need something specific, I can create it.
